Samantha Jane Stosur is a professional tennis player from Australia with Polish heritage, competing in both singles plus doubles. She’s a former world No.

Samantha Stosur has proved her skill s and talent to the world of tennis and she has written her name in the history as being the first Australian woman to enter the quarter finals of the United States Open Tennis tournament for Women after a long time. Samantha Stosur defeated Elena Dementieva in the fourth round of this tournament. This 26 years old tennis player has taken her steps towards the quarter finals and she will be facing another tough and competitive opponent in the next round. This great player ended the match within two and a half hour of starting it. The ended with sadness on the face of Dementieva and happiness in the mind of Samantha Stosur. According to the scores Samantha had been dominating the match in every set but she got tough competition at every step.

Kim Clijsters by scott mecum

In the video belo courtesy of the WTA YouTube Channel, watch professional tennis player Kim Clijsters throw out the first pitch before a Mets game. This is an interesting look behind the scenes as she gets ready to throw out the first pitch.

Defending champion Kim Clijsters came through a desperately scrappy US Open quarter-final to set up a tantalising last-four clash with Venus Williams.

Williams, the third seed, battled past Francesca Schiavone 7-6 (7-5) 6-4 in a late-running daytime match on Arthur Ashe Stadium.

And Clijsters then opened the night session with a 6-4 5-7 6-3 victory over Australian fifth seed Sam Stosur.

Both Williams and Clijsters are chasing their third titles at Flushing Meadows.

Clijsters went into her match on an 18-match unbeaten run in New York that included title wins either side of her retirement in 2005 and 2009.

The 27-year-old Belgian also had a 3-0 record over the much-improved Stosur, who had lost to Schiavone in the French Open final earlier this year.

It was the Australian who made the better start but after winning the first set, unforced errors and fragile serving began to plague both players.

Stosur needed two chances before serving out the second set and Clijsters was in trouble in the decider as she was broken three times in a row, but Stosur could not capitalise and the reigning champion edged through in one hour and 14 minutes.

Clijsters and Williams share a 6-6 career record but the Belgian has won the last four, including a fourth-round win at Flushing Meadows 12 months ago.

Scrappy just about sums it up. Boy, when I said Kim would have a tough one if she didn't serve well I didn't think it would be as difficult, or as up and down for that matter.

Six breaks of serve for each?. Ouch.

Kim herself was joking good naturally in the post-match interview in regards to her serve saying that at least she got an ace to finish off the match.

A pretty match it wasn't, but thankfully she got through it.

Now both women have an extra day of rest (not that either of them really need it). I'm not gonna say anything in regards to Kim's next match.

Just that she wipe the slate clean and start fresh. Venus herself despite playing well can still get streaky.

Remembering last year's result 6-0 0-6 6-4 in the third, Friday will be interesting for sure.

Now I'm off to frazzle about tomorrow night's blockbuster Federer vs. Soderling.

Bootyism - Tiger Mocked By Sky Plane Ad

Image Credit: Bryan Snyder/Reuters/LandovApologies in advance to the golf-is-not-entertainment crowd, but Tiger Woods is on the course at Augusta, shooting 1-under par through five holes. Thus far, the Masters crowds have been extremely polite, greeting him with loud applause when he was announced on the first tee. There was, however, one joker who managed to elude the tournament’s obsessive restrictions. According to Golf.com, which is live-blogging the action, a circling airplane dragged a banner through the air that read, “Tiger: Did you mean bootyism?”

You can watch live video of the Masters on their website all afternoon and ESPN’s broadcast begins at 4 p.m.

A plane flew over where Tiger Woods was playing the Masters Golf Tournament. As Tiger Woods played his first hole, a small plane flew overhead — carrying a banner reading – Tiger: Did you mean bootyism?

Woods received a long ovation from spectators when he teed off at 1:42 p.m.

Nike has aired its first commercial featuring Tiger Woods, post-sex scandal.  The commercial aired yesterday during Master's coverage on ESPN and The Golf Channel, and features a somber Woods, filmed in black & white, as the voice of his late father, Earl, asks the golf superstar what his thinking was, what his feelings are whether he has learned anything.

Nike said of the commercial, in a statement: "We support Tiger and his family. As he returns to competitive golf, the
ad addresses his time away from the game using the powerful words of his
father."

In the meantime, Augusta National has been criticized this week for limiting access to Woods, and trying to keep the focus on golf, while the rest of the media wants answers about the November accident and sex scandal. Yesterday, the head of Augusta spoke out about Woods, himself.

Chairman Billy Payne said during a press conference, "It is not simply the degree of his conduct that is so egregious here. It is the fact that he disappointed all of us, and more importantly, our kids. Our hero did not live up to the expectations of the role model we saw for our children. Is there a way forward? I hope yes. I think yes. But certainly his future will never again be measured only by his performance against par, but measured by the sincerity of his efforts to change."

Kate Gosselin's team of lawyers say that Jon's emergency custody filings make no sense and are full of holes. "It's hard to really understand it. We think that the filing is incoherent on a number of levels." Mark Momjian plans to file a response today or tomorrow, but is certain that the judge will throw out Jon's request for physical custody of the eight children, and spousal support. "We do think it is a seriously flawed filing that the court will
ultimately dismiss."

Speaking of Kate Gosselin, Hugh Hefner knows one thing for sure... Kate will never appear in Playboy. "No! No!" Hefner said when asked by E! News whether the reality TV mom would be a good fit for Playboy. He even questions why she is on 'Dancing with the Stars.' "I don't think she's a celebrity," Hef said.

'Screech' is in danger of losing his home again. Former child actor Dustin Diamond's home is close to foreclosure, as Wells Fargo Bank has filed a petition to try to recoup $290,000 in mortgage payments that Diamond has failed to make. Diamond's manager says it is all a misunderstanding, "He's been making payments and as far as I know everything's been going
fine on his end."

Two things:

.

1. You're a troll.

.

2. I think you sort of almost have a modicum of a point.

.

Not that any of the things you said had a shred of correctness in and of themselves, but what is Tiger really apologizing for? He skanked around on his wife. Is that my business? No. Do I care? Not in the least. Should he be made to grovel for this? No. The only person he owes an apology to is his wife. (Do I have any compassion for someone who gets caught banging every tail that came his way? No. He has to live with the consequences of his actions.)

.

That said, Tiger himself chose to do this because he's trying to salvage his brand. If he grovels and crawls and cries and shames himself enough, eventually, Tiger will be the victim, not the wife he screwed around on. (You're already there, my troglodytic friend. so you prove my point.) When that comes to pass, the brand is saved and Tiger can go back to swimming in piles of money. The only thing forcing this emasculation is Tiger's desire to resurrect his brand.

As Scott Van Pelt on ESPN today said that security in the Masters every Uppity patrons can treat the establishment of the beautiful south. What I can not control is the sky – at least not entirely anyway this is like an airplane with the banner “Tiger: Did you mean ‘Bootyism’? “They managed to get ahead in the course.

First of all congratulations for ESPN to show the level of discussion (even if they were due to AP photogs always dissolved in air, had no choice) and then his presence.

Secondly, if these people think they are God’s country, invading the airspace so? Usually the answer: “PETA would be.” But since this has nothing to do with animals, and Buddhists do not really like wearing the kind of aggressive Sky humiliation “of the public appears to corner, let’s just assume it was the Chi Phi at UGA and move on. This is a better use of resources than usual.
